And Practical
Feng Shui Secrets #4
There are many
ways that our environments affect our health. In Feng Shui we work with
specific areas of the home which relate to certain aspects of our
lives. By taking a look at what is going on in the Health area (middle
left section of your home) you can often make a direct association with
a particular health issue. Here are some examples:
- Broken items,
such as chairs or clocks can give us health problems - for example, a
broken chair could be associated with someone in the house experiencing
back problems, particularly if that chair is in the Health area.
- High
ceilings, the rear entrance being directly opposite the front entrance,
bathrooms or stairs in the center of the house, stairs opposite the
front door - these can all have the effect of draining your energy,
making you feel constantly tired and lethargic. In this case, crystals
are great for generating and circulating good energy (Chi) and can be
very beneficial. They can be hung in the center of a room or in a
window or in a corner where energy seems to be stuck and needs to be
circulated.
Stairs opposite the front door send energy straight out the door
The
swag above the door, crystal hanging from the light fixture, red rug
and fan on the wall all help to lift the energy and stop it going out
the door
The
element that is associated with health is wood. Introducing some wood
into the Health area is a good way to enhance it. You can do this in
several ways: use the colors of blue and green; healthy plants or items
that are made of wood.
You can surround yourself with reminders of good health -
things that bring good health to mind for you, such as pictures of
healthy, fit people, exercise equipment (must be used and not just for
decoration!) anything you can think of that you associate with good
health.
Don't forget that everything is connected. Perhaps you're not getting
enough sleep - that will obviously affect your health. Is there
something in the bedroom that could be stopping you from sleeping? Too
many mirrors in the bedroom will generate a great deal of energy. This
can stop you sleeping. If this is the case, try covering them up at
night to see if that helps.
Very bright colors also generate a lot of energy and are
not recommended as the main colors to use in a bedroom. Pointed corners
or sharp, pointed objects, especially if they point directly at you while
you are in bed or while sitting anywhere else in the house can cause
sharp, stabbing pains. Things stored under the bed generate negative,
stagnant Chi (known as Sh'a) which your body will absorb as you sleep.
Electromagnetic fields (EMF's) are another contributing factor to ill
health. Many homes and offices are affected as we have more and more
electrical equipment in the house. If you have electrical equipment by
your bed, such as an electric radio/alarm, you can be exposing yourself
to a real health hazard. It's amazing just how strong the emission of
EMF's can be from things like electric radio/alarm clocks, telephones,
radios, electric blankets, water beds, etc.
These are just a few of the ways in which Feng Shui goes hand in hand
with your health. If you work with creating balance and harmony within
your environment to create an environment that nurtures and supports
you, it will help you to make the right choices, to develop the inner
Feng Shui (balance and harmony within) which can only be beneficial to
your health.
